Location:York, Pennsylvania

The York Hospital site is highly developed and has a topographic change of over 110 feet from one side of the site to the other, making design and construction challenging. McCloskey & Faber was brought in early in the expansion Master Planning process. We studied the site and redesigned the circulation patterns, the entrance experience, and grading opportunities for a proposed Patient Care Tower, parking lot expansion and new drop-off areas. The result is a new boulevard entrance flanked by reduced-scale contemporary lighting fixtures with landscaping planted to define spaces, and vehicular drop-off areas on two floor levels terraced down a slope. Professional services included master planning, design and documentation of grading, landscaping, public plazas and site lighting. This project is currently under construction. Implementation is to be phased over a period of four years.
